Training & Lessons
Chirs Rice trains horses and the people who love them. Usually, he begins with the horse but often he trains horse and rider together to ensure a successful outcome for all. He welcomes clients to ride with him and learn from his methods. As the horse progresses, Chris trains the horse and rider together as a team. He continues the lessons after the horses have returned to their farms with their owners hauling for tune ups and regular lessons. He is dedicated to long lasting results and success for the horse and rider.

His clients are enthusiastically loyal and return with more horses and friends with horses. Chris's talent is evident from the easy relationship he quickly establishes with horses and the solid results he achieves. He teaches respect through simple and quiet lessons in giving to pressure and its release. He " breaks" a horse by methodically gaining control of all parts of the horse from the poll to the hindquarters. His horses are "light" as the are willing partners who understand their cues and enjoy their jobs. This foundation is then refined and polished toward the specific discipline interests of the client and abilities of the horse

roundpen

The facilities include the central roundpen which is Chris's first classroom for training. The round pen is a primary tool for Chris and he teaches respect from the ground before and with under saddle training. The arena / track is spacious and equipped with lights for evening riding along with equipment for all disciplines

Boarding
Chris limits the number of horses he keeps in training as he takes substantial time with each horse every day. The horses are boarded in clean 12 x 12 stalls which sit under the shade and protection of beautiful 100 + year old Oak trees and are surrounded by a covered walkway. The horses enjoy top quality hay, feed, and daily turnout.

The Training Center also offers pasture board on a limited basis.

Breeding and Sales
Dodger Command stands at stud at the Training Center ( see the "about" page ) and has proven to be a producer of color and performance. His 2009 foal, "Mud Puddle" is shown on right.

Chirs is not a horse trader but he is a networked professional. If you are looking to buy a horse, Chris can assist you in finding the right horse for your ability and interests. If you have a horse for sale, let him know and he will work to connect your horse with a matching owner. He also has weanlings, yearlings, and finished horses for sale.
