Welcome to the Chris Rice Training Center. The Center was established by Chris in 2005. Since then, he has dedicated himself to building the facilities and serving his clients. Located in Pine Hall, North Carolina, close to the town of Madison and convenient to both Winston-Salem and Greensboro, the center is beautifully sited on a 1920's farm with 100+ year old oak trees and rolling hills.

Chris Rice is a horseman and trainer who directed his life to learning as much as possible about horses. After exploring the full range of equestrian disciplines, he has focused his personal riding on Reining and Working Cow horses. However, he is passionate about all horses and has developed a training program that is foundation based and relevant to all types of equestrian athletes. A flying lead change is just as key to the hunter jumper as it is to dressage as it is to reiners; all depend upon a well schooled horse who is an eager and willing and responsive partner.

Riding with Chris is the legendary horseman, Billy Arthur. Billy is still the youngest rider to have won the NRCHA Reined Working Cow Horse Futurity ( 1979 ). He is a horseman with extraordinary skill, finese, and understanding. Chris says that Billy has riden more great horses than most people will ever see in their lifetime. Billy trained with Tony Amaral, Bob Avila, Les Vogt, and many other Hall of Famers. His presence at the Chris Rice Training center is an incredible asset for everyone who rides and visits as he is a "book" of experience and knowledge. He is a resource and mentor to Chris who is honored with their partnership and friendship.

Billy Arthur looked Chris up after hearing about his training style and abilities. He was impressed with the "handle" that Chris puts on a horse, working to communicate and control every part of the horse from the poll to the hindquarters. This is something that Billy has worked on throughout his career. They quickly established a friendship and working partnership. Today they enjoy riding together and training great horses.
